I was lucky enough to have Jonny as a climbing instructor recently on a course. Safe to say he was superb and extremely knowledgeable on climbing and the outdoors! Had a superb week under his instruction and teaching. I gained absolutely loads of knowledge and confidence with Jonnys teaching and coaching! I very highly recommend Jonny!
I have climbed before, but not to any sort of high level. Jonny has a natural talent for teaching a basic climber what he needs to know. I highly recommend him for anybody that would like to learn. Great week and I will be back!
Fantastic guide and teacher- took me from my sport climbing to trad leading confidently, and I learn something more every time I go out with him so I don’t think I’m going to stop any time soon. Highly recommended!
Had a wonderful day up the Mournes with Jonny Parr yesterday for a lesson about developing good habits for trad climbing. I learnt a lot and really enjoyed the day. Would highly recommend him!
We had the most wonderful day climbing in the Mourne Mountains, completing lots of routes and managing to escape the bad weather thanks to Jonny's suggestions. The routes he showed us were both challenging and fun and we learnt many new skills, particularly regarding our footwork as well as working with tiny hand holds. We felt completely safe the entire time, and Jonny is super lovely himself too – so many nice chats were had while climbing and coffee-ing. Five stars!
I have spent the last 16 years climbing and paddling in various parts of Europe and further afield, but no matter where I end up its always good to get home to wee Northern Ireland!
I have been working in the outdoor industry since 2005, and have worked for a variety of providers throughout the UK and Ireland. During this time I have been working my way through the MLT awards and have attained the MIC allowing me to work throughout the UK and Ireland in both summer and winter, instructing all aspects of climbing and mountaineering.
