Golden Oldy
Headed round to the west face of Aonach Mor today with John. We decided to climb Golden Oldy, as neither of us had climbed it before, and it was a really good route to practice some more short roping.
Once again the weather was on our side, after leaving the shade of the valley floor we were climbing in sunshine the whole way to the top. For those who fancy a mountaineering day out, away from the major ridges of the Ben this is a fantastic option, a great ridge, with great situations, very worthy of its three stars. We were on the summit for 2 o’clock, then it was straight done to the gondola and home for a massive feed, another great day out in the hills!

Past the last of the steeper steps on the ridge, the end is in sight! |

Dodgy poses on the summit, psyched! |
