Ben Macdui

Today we decided to go for a bit of a journey up on the Cairngorm plateau. We headed up Fiacaill ridge, which had no snow what so ever on it, but still a great way to gain the plateau. From there we headed up onto Cairn Lochan and then started to make our way towards Macdui. The visibilty was reasonably poor at times, providing us with a good opportunity to look at some navigation strategies. We arrived at the top of a rather busy Ben Macudi and had a quick bit to eat before retracing our steps back towards the northern corries. From the top of the goat track we skirted round the top of t-Sneachda and headed up onto the top of Cairngorm, another peak in the bag! Leaving the summit we headed down to the cafe at the top station for a quick cup of coffee before making our way down the ski area to the car park. A very civilised end to the day.
