Totally tropical!

Things have been rather warm over the last few days, seems like Scotland has been missing out on all the cold weather that the rest of the uk has been getting! Freezing levels were close to and above the summits at times, hard to get psyched when everything is melting, so havent been out in the hills much.
Today things were looking more positive, the temps had dropped and the freezing level was forcast to be down to around 900m. After the recent warm weather venues were rather limited, so we decided to head up to Creag Meagaidh. Its one of the higher crags that we havent been to this season, and we had heard there was still a good bit of ice hang on after the thaw, it was also good to get a change of scenery.
I was climbing with John and Lotte, so always company at the belays. After passing a number of parties getting geared up below staghorn gully, the pumpkin, and the sash, we headed up to do Glass Slipper, a nice little grade III gully, with one steep pitch in the middle. Things still felt pretty warm on the route, there was lots of water dripping off the crag, and the ice was far from perfect! never the less we cracked on, all part of the Scottish winter experience! A good day out in the hills, first time i had been climbing with Lotte, so kool to get out climbing with someone new.

The Orr headin up into the steep step.
Lotte on the steep step
John about to set of on the last of his pitches.
