This course does exactly what it says on the tin! The intro to rock climbing is aimed at those with little or no rock climbing experience and is prefect for those seeking to make the transition from indoor to outdoor climbing. 

The primary focus of the course is to give a comprehensive intro to rock climbing outdoors, giving participants a solid base on which to begin their journey towards becoming an independent rock climber.

Course content

The structure of the course will be fairly flexible to suit the varying levels of participants experience, however main topics to be covered may include:

  • Fitting a helmet and harness
  • Tying in
  • Belaying
  • Intro to rock climbing calls
  • Movement on rock and basic climbing technique
  • Intro to rocking climbing gear
  • Abseiling

Each day will start with a general introduction at an agreed meeting point, giving the instructor an opportunity to discuss individual aims and objectives for the day.

Cost

£80 per person

Given the introductory nature of these courses they can run at a slightly higher ratio of up to 1:6 and may be staffed by one of our associate instructors.

This course is a great stepping stone to our learn to rock climb or Private guiding courses.
